Two young people at a workshop

Hearing Young Voices event

Do you currently work with children or young people, or are you someone who has been affected by parental mental illness?  Then come to our event ‘Hearing Young Voices’ at City Hall on 30th January 2019, 9am – 1pm.

Did you know there are 3.4 million children in the UK  living with a parent with a mental illness? Without support, 70% will develop mental health problems by the time they are teenagers.

Join us to think about how to break the intergenerational cycle of mental illness, and ensure that future generations of children affected by parental mental illness will thrive despite this adversity.

This half-day conference gives you the opportunity to understand more about the impact of parental mental illness, and what can be done to support these children. You will hear from young people and professionals about their experiences, discover how strategies and interventions can build resilience in schools and communities, and share ideas about possible solutions.
