Would you like to donate your time and skills to the work of Our Time? Do you have any particular skills or ways you would like to support us by volunteering?

There are several ways to volunteer for Our Time and support children and young people who have a parent with a mental illness. We are a small charity and cannot manage large numbers of volunteers, but we would love to hear from you if you are able to support us in the following ways:

Fundraising: Through organising events, signing up to Easyfundraising or Amazon Smile, naming us as your charity to support at work or participating at national fundraising events, such as the London Marathon.

KidsTime Workshops: We welcome psychology, family therapy and social work students who need clinical experience. We are also keen to hear from drama and drama therapy students who have experience working with children. If you are interested in this opportunity, you will need an enhanced DBS certificate and be able to commit to a six-month period at least (although workshops typically take place once a week).

Stories, vlogs and poems: You may be a parent with a mental illness, a child or young person who has a parent with a mental illness, or an adult who has lived in a family with parental mental illness. Whatever your experience, we would like you to share your story, which we can anonymise if you don’t want to share your details. You can find out more on the website.

Photographers: We’re always looking for budding photographers or photography students who are happy to offer us a few hours of their time at events.
