Our London Bubble Theatre Workshops are back!

After last year’s success, we are delighted to be running a free five-day theatre and drama workshop for 13 – 18-year-olds in Southwark, London with London Bubble supported by BBC Children in Need.

Our Time kicked off its engagement activities this week by holding a focus group with families in Tower Hamlets, in partnership with the Child and Adults Mental Health Project Team.  The focus group provided a ‘taster’ of the KidsTime Workshop model, and brought together 10 children and parents to discuss mental illness, and get their thoughts and ideas on whether having a KidsTime Workshop in the borough would be helpful to them.

Oslo conference – It Takes a Village

Alan Cooklin, Lenny Fagin, Dympna Cunnane and Kirsty Tahta Wraith (who got a full bursary) attended an international conference on parental mental health “It Takes a Village” in Oslo in May. We presented our work in workshops, lectures, discussion groups and over dinner and social events with other organisations working with children of parents with mental illness.

Campaigning for better mental health provision in schools – Our Development Director joins the APPG on Psychology debate on this subject April was an All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) month for me, with two trips to the House of Commons and one to the House of Lords, to attend APPGs relating to children and young people’s mental health and well-being. All Party Parliamentary Groups are informal cross-party groups run by MPs and Members of the House of Lords to address specific topics of public interest, and involve individuals and representative groups in their activities.

Our Time selected as Global’s Make Some Noise charity partner

We are delighted to have been selected by Global’s Make Some Noise this year for their major fundraising campaign that kicks off in May. Global’s Make Some Noise is a national charity linked to eight major radio stations that funds and raises awareness of local projects using radio. The money raised from the campaign will be used to set up and run KidsTime Workshops in Ealing for families affected by parental mental illness.
