Our Time kicked off its engagement activities this week by holding a focus group with families in Tower Hamlets, in partnership with the Child and Adults Mental Health Project Team.
The focus group provided a ‘taster’ of the KidsTime Workshop model, and brought together 10 children and parents to discuss mental illness, and get their thoughts and ideas on whether having a KidsTime Workshop in the borough would be helpful to them. Informal feedback from the families was that there was a need for more support for families impacted by parental mental illness and that they would be keen to take part in a future KidsTime Workshop, should funding be sourced for this.
Coming up on Thursday 20th June, Our Time’s CEO and Development Director will be running a larger engagement session with professionals and practitioners in Newham to gather feedback and information about the needs and provision for parental mental health in the borough. Feedback from these engagement activities will form a crucial part of the evidence in funding applications for Our Time projects and will be published in the early autumn.
