Our Time awarded funding by the Mayor of London’s Young Londoners Fund

We are delighted to announce that Our Time has been awarded funding through the Mayor of London’s Young Londoners Fund to develop a KidsTime Workshop and a supporting schools outreach project in Newham over two years, starting in January 2020. This follows on from our engagement activities in the borough last year where we consulted professionals and families on the needs of children and young people impacted by parental mental illness. We were able to use the evidence gathered to put forward a compelling case for funding a local project, which can now become a reality thanks to this grant from the Mayor of London.

What is the Young Londoners Fund?

The Mayor created the Young Londoners Fund to help London’s children and young adults make the most of our amazing city.

The Mayor’s £45m Young Londoners Fund will help children and young people to fulfil their potential, particularly those at risk of getting caught up in crime. It will support a range of education, sport, cultural and other activities for children and young people. The fund will see £30m made available for projects in local communities. The remaining £15m will be invested to expand existing projects funded by City Hall that support young Londoners.

Our Time is one of the second group of projects to receive the Young Londoners Fund. The projects that have received this funding include everything from theatre groups and employability training, to football clubs and art sessions.

This project will be developed and delivered in partnership with the London Borough of Newham and HeadStart Newham, and development work will start this month.
