The London Marathon was due to happen this coming Sunday and in light of the current lockdown, this is obviously not taking place. There is a national initiative that has been set up in double-quick time with the help of JustGiving to support those charities that are looking for ways to support those that need it and it’s called the 2.6 challenge (the marathon is 26 miles but we aren’t all able to do that!)
All you need to do is dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 that suits your skills and complete it on Sunday 26 April when the 40th London Marathon would have taken place.
This could be something as simple as pledging to run or ride 2.6 miles as your daily exercise, holding the plank for 2.6 minutes, to doing gardening for 26 minutes. You can get other family members involved too but of course, whatever you do, please follow the government guidance on social distancing.
There are lots of other ideas here.
Then visit our fundraising page and click ‘Start Fundraising’ to set up your page to ensure you are raising funds for Our Time and share! You don’t have long to get started as it needs to be done this Sunday!
Let us know if you plan to take part and please, when you share on social media, use the hashtags #twopointsixchallenge #OTtwopointsixchallenge so we can share your requests!
