As part of Our Time’s #BeingSeenAndHeard campaign, giving a voice to the children of parents with a mental illness, we have been awarded a special interest group by the Association of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (ACAMH) to increase awareness in professional circles about the impact of parents’ mental illness on children. This will highlight the issues, enable professionals to understand more about the research and the science behind the campaign, and aim to change the policy landscape to include this hidden and highly vulnerable group.
The highlight of this will be a research conference in partnership with ACAMH, The Royal Society of Medicine and Our Time on 12th March 2019, which will bring together professional audiences, academic researchers, service providers, policymakers and beneficiaries. The conference will conclude with a public lecture by Professor Sir Michael Marmot, which will be free to the public.
More information will be available nearer to the date through our website and social media channels.
