Who Cares? comes to Ealing

Our Time is pleased to be working together with Ealing Council’s Health Improvement Team to roll-out a Who Cares? project in the borough.  Five schools have signed up to the project, namely: Woodlands Academy Primary; Ellen Wilkinson High; Viking Primary; West Acton Primary; and Clifton Primary, with Woodlands acting as the lead school for the cluster.  Our Time will start work with Woodlands Academy in March to prepare for setting up a Who Cares? project within the school, with staff training to take place in May.

Rupa Huq MP for Ealing Central and Acton, who attended our #BeingSeenAndHeard campaign event at the House of Commons in October last year, has written to Our Time giving her support for this project:  “I offer my full support to Our Time in their launch of a schools project to spread the amazing work they do across the borough of Ealing.  The campaign does important work in schools helping children who have a parent with a mental illness…Children in every classroom in the land are affected by these issues, but early intervention like that provided by Our Time can really help provide much-needed support to these families“.

We are delighted to receive this backing from a local MP, which will help to drive forward the progress of this work and ensure that it remains a priority on the local agenda.
