Contract type:  Freelance, part-time

Hours:  4 hours per month (The workshop takes place on the last Thursday of every month, excluding August, from 5-7.30pm)

Pay:  £35.00 per hour 

Contract length:  Minimum of 12 months

Start date: ASAP

Hackney KidsTime Workshop, a multi-family workshop for whole families where a parent has a mental illness, is looking for a part-time freelance Drama Facilitator.  KidsTime Workshops take place once a month after school, for 2.5 hours, and are for families where one or both parents/carers has a mental illness. The workshops offer a fun, protected space where young people can express themselves, interact socially, share experiences and learn about mental illness through discussion, games and drama. You will be responsible for:

  • Designing and facilitating drama sessions for children and young people, involving games, storytelling and filming
  • Supporting children and young people to express themselves and develop confidence
  • Facilitating discussion and games with both parents and children around the topic of mental health and mental illness
  • Working together with the delivery team to plan and facilitate fun and engaging workshops for children, young people and families impacted by parental mental illness

You will receive training specialist training from Our Time to support you in your role.
